Contact Us

We are a small center and we strive to be accessible. Contact the center by phone at 319-337-8980, or by email at maryjo-childcare@uiowa.edu or, after August 2009, maryjochildcare@gmail.com.

Please avoid calling between 11:30am to 1:00pm if possible - both directors are busy with lunch and nap.  :>)

Waitlist Information/Signup

Although we occasionally have immediate openings, most interested families put their name on our waiting list and are enrolled within six – nine months.  Once you have chatted with Sharon (or Jill), you may fill out a
waiting list form.  You can pick it up after your tour or we can send it to you.

After you have returned the form, we recommend that you telephone or email periodically to check your status.  If you are contacted by email or phone about an opening or to see if you still wish to be on the waiting list, you must reply or your name will be removed.

Registration Information & Forms

Calling ahead to see if a director (Sharon or Jill) is available is a good idea.  You may also come in person,
without an appointment, between 9:15am and 11:15am, or between 3:15pm and 5:15pm.

When you have been offered a slot and you have accepted, you will be asked to send a deposit check for $100.  The check is refundable, in full, if you cancel more than 30 days ahead of your start date.  (Giving cancellation notice of less than 30 days from your start date will result in the center keeping the deposit.)
When your child actually starts at the center, you may deduct half their deposit from your first month's tuition, the other half is retained by the center for program use.

Once a deposit check is received, an enrollment packet will be sent out.  The packet contains all the forms that are required to be on file at the center.  The packet also includes a welcome letter for your child and a welcome picture drawn by one of our graduates.  It also contains our Medication Policy and the form used when a child requires medication at the center, as well as our Annual Closings.
